Consent of service.

Clients Age Requirement

Clients must be at least 18 years old to book a therapy session independently. If a client is younger than 18 years of age, their parents or legal guardian must book the session on their behalf and be actively involved in the therapeutic process. The involvement of parents or legal guardians is essential for providing appropriate consent and support throughout the therapy journey.

No Guarantees of Outcomes

While I am committed to providing the best possible assistance, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes from therapy. The effectiveness of therapy may differ based on individual circumstances and personal dedication.

Suitability of Therapy

There are circumstances in which therapy with Kilian Haaser may not be suitable. In such situations, I may recommend a more appropriate service. These instances may include:

  • Instances of severe violence or threats of violence within a relationship you are part of.

  • Experiencing intense thoughts of self-harm or harm towards others, or a history of substantial harm to yourself or others.

  • Current untreated major conditions such as schizophrenia, recurring psychotic depression, or bipolar disorder.

  • Active and severe alcohol and/or drug addiction, evaluated from my perspective after commencing therapy.

Privacy

Your personal information is legally safeguarded. As part of delivering therapy services, I will need to collect and document pertinent personal information related to your current situation.

Shared Responsibility in Therapy

Successful therapy requires active engagement on your part. Regular attendance as per the agreed-upon schedule, active participation in session discussions, and applying the discussed topics outside sessions are vital for progress. You and I both share the responsibility for setting goals and deciding when therapy should conclude.

Legal Matters

Information discussed during therapy is solely for therapeutic purposes and is not intended for use in legal proceedings. You agree not to compel my testimony for or against any party or request records for legal actions.

Limits of Confidentiality

All information exchanged during therapy will be held in confidence, secure, and protected, except in the following instances:

  • When legally subpoenaed by a court.

  • If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.

  • When required by law.

  • With your prior consent to share information with another collaborating professional or agency, or if you seek referral to such entities.

Potential Risks and Benefits

Therapy may entail discussing challenging aspects of your life, possibly leading to uncomfortable emotions like sadness, guilt, anxiety, anger, frustration, or helplessness. Nonetheless, therapy is associated with benefits including reduced distress, improved interpersonal relationships, heightened self-awareness, enhanced stress management skills, and problem resolution. However, outcomes cannot be assured.

Fees and Payment

You acknowledge and accept the established fees for my services, and you are responsible for all service payments, regardless of counseling outcomes. Payment is due prior to the session. If a third party covers your fees, you understand that you remain liable if the third party denies payment.

Cancellation Policy

For cancellations made by either party within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment, the full fee (excluding a 1.55 € payment fee) will be applied, except in cases where a medical certificate or valid extenuating circumstances are provided, or an alternate cancellation policy has been agreed upon. Sessions can be converted to online sessions as needed.

Late Arrivals

If you anticipate being late for a session and notify me, I will make optimal use of the remaining time.

Contact and Emergencies

You can reach me during office hours. Please understand that my response might be delayed by up to 24 hours due to ongoing client sessions. For emergencies, as I do not offer crisis services, please contact emergency services or seek assistance from a medical professional, hospital, or crisis-focused healthcare facility nearby.

Termination of Therapy

Therapy concludes upon achieving your established goals and no longer requiring my services. You retain the right to terminate the process at any time, but please adhere to the cancellation policy for scheduled appointments. After three cancellations or reschedules, I may discuss termination to accommodate other clients in line for therapy.

Diagnosis and Medication

I am not authorized to provide diagnoses, psychological evaluations, reports, or prescriptions. If these services are needed, I can provide referrals to qualified professionals.

Rights and Feedback

You possess the right to respectful, secure, and considerate care. Feel free to inquire about any aspect of therapy, my training, or experience. Your constructive or critical feedback is valued and will be taken into account, as it aids in ensuring the comfort, safety, and relevance of my services for you and all clients.

Online Therapy

Engaging in online therapy involves the same risks, benefits, and rights as face-2-face therapy. Additional risks and consequences of online therapy include the possibility of redirecting to "face-to-face" therapy at my request, disruption or distortion of personal information transmission due to technical failures, interruption of personal information transmission by unauthorized persons, and unintentional loss or access of electronically stored personal information despite reasonable efforts to use secure, encrypted audio/video transmission software.
